The new wave

I went to the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair a few weeks ago. I always go to these things hoping to be inspired. I am sorry. No... nothing new, nothing different, no groovy young craftsters driving the revolution. Or groovy old ones for that matter. Some of the quilts were pretty amazing, I admit, but where are the bloggers, etsy sellers, the new wave. Well, obviously I know where they are now... but can we bring it to the people? I have a dream... I am not in any way doubting the validity of what I saw, I just get excitied by the renaissance that is going on, and I want to see evidence of it in my city and my state. As disappointed as I was, I felt the need to cheer myself up, so I bought myself a gift, one I have lusted after for a long time. A skein of sari silk yarn. So precious.

oh yummy!! I love sari silk yarn. Have you seen the gorgeous scarf I have?? My mum bought it for me years ago much to the chagrin of my sister who thought it was hideous and was adament that I would hate it! Needless to say I loved it (and still do)
What plans do you have for this???
A friend from the school said there were some amazing fashions featuring shibori at the craft show, did you see those?? But otherwise she said much the same: same old same old...

I read so many bad reviews of the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair I didn't go. Do you ever get to Bazaar at Fremantle Art Centre? (It's FAC's Christmas sale of work.) That's always bursting with gorgeous, groovy, new wave crafts...
Yummy yarn, by the way!

I think it's just so divine that its going to be a scarf. It doesn't need much - it is just so beautiful. Yes, I have had a stall at Bazaar before and it is great, to visit and to be partof. I won't be having a stall for Made on the Left but will definitely come and visit.
