Room to move & Inspirations

I recently cleaned out my studio. Completely. I was ruthless and lots of random pieces of fluff which I may have used one day have now found homes at the op shop. In the process I discovered many clothes put aside for repair and long forgotten, and the inspiration for a myriad of other projects. My yarn stash is large and divine and makes me want to dive into the colours and create random and striking combinations. My fabric stash is desperate to be cut and stitched and ripped and printed and dyed. I am full of excitement and intention and itching to get stuck in. I am confronted by a beautiful task and just need to find a tiny way in, a beginning so that I no longer feel daunted, but am in the midst of inspiration, creating...

Snap goes the dog!

In my web wanderings, I recently stumbled across Pet Photo Booth - an Artrage sponsored project examining the relationships between Australians and their pets. This project appears to have been going for a few years now, but the artists are now planning an Australian tour and a resulting book. Photographs of pets and owners are taken against a series of kitsch vintage backgrounds and the resulting photographs range through fascinating, raw and intense. The artists invite anyone to be involved; all participants receive a free print. Cosby is already preening in anticipation of the next appearance they make!
